Ginny Povall, an American-bred and self-taught winemaker who has made an impressive career out of a long-time hobby. Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Ginny began making wine long before she had all the resources available to her now.

About the Event
Ginny Povall, originally from New England, cultivates 53 acres of land of which 24 acres are the protea flowers (South Africa’s national flower) and 12 acres of vineyards. Back in the late 1940s, it was the first farm in South Africa to cultivate proteas. Ginny is now making some exquisite wines from Chenin Blanc and Pinot Noir. as well as her Big Flower Cabernet Sauvignon.
We are honored to welcome Ginny, all the way from South Africa, to Wine 101 Hamden, CT for a special free class and tasting focused on a small selection of her wines. This will be a try before you buy event where each wine will be heavily discounted for all attendees to take advantage of this evening only.
