Que Syrah, Shiraz
Time & Location
About the Event
No matter what you call it, Syrah is one of the darkest red wines on the market. Darker than Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is so dark that if you were to hold a glass of the wine up to the light, you’d have a very hard time seeing through it.
Old World Syrah from Italy and France tend to have more acidity and earthy-herbaceous aromas. New World-styled Syrah wines from Australia, The U.S. and South America usually have more fruit-driven characteristics with lots of spice.
During this in-depth class we will:
- Visualize the common taste of Syrah/Shiraz wines depending on from what part of the world they originate.
- Campare/contrast the differences between New World & Old World as well as northern vs southern hemisphere Syrah/Shiraz.
- Sing in unison the classic Doris Day song, "Que Sera, Sera."
- Just checking to see if you were paying attention.
This class will challenge you to brush up on your tasting skills, assessment of wine and develop your palate to truly understand what you like and dislike. You can never practice too much.
$30 per person includes your class, light cheese, and crackers to accompany the tasting and $15 gift certificate to purchase wines after the class.
This is a wine appreciation class to further educate your palate by tasting a variety of wines in a professional manner.
