Wine 201: South African Wines with Boschendal

Before the last 10 years South African Wines were barely a presence on the bottom of the grocery store shelf. Most of the wine produced in the country went directly to be distilled into brandy. Today the story is changing. South African wines have emerged as both some of the best valued red and white wines and in the highest quality.

Today, South African wines straddle Old World and New: the wines often smell of ripe, silky fruit, but showcase earthy flavors and finish with restraint.

During this class we will be joined by Henry Lavado, representative from Boschendal Winery in South Africa. We will explore several styles of wine from their portfolio that represent their commitment not only to quality but to preserving quality of place.

$30 per person includes your class, light cheese, and crackers to accompany the tasting and $15 gift certificate to purchase wines after the class.

This is a wine appreciation class to further educate your palate by tasting a variety of wines in a professional manner.

You must be 21+ years of age to purchase a ticket.

Classroom size is limited to only 20 people.

We encourage more in-depth discussion and analysis while being courteous to other attendees and tasters.
